The 1-series aluminum plate is the only pure aluminum series among the 8 series of aluminum plates, and it is also the earliest, most mature, most widely used, and most cost-effective aluminum plate among the 8 series aluminum plates. So, what are the characteristics of 1-series pure aluminum plates and their common uses?
Characteristics of 1-series aluminum plate:
1. Low density. The specific gravity of pure aluminum is 2.71, and under the same volume, the weight of 1-series aluminum plates is only 35% of that of iron.
2. Can be reinforced. The strength of 1-series aluminum plates can be increased by cold working, up to more than one time.
3. Easy to process. 1 series aluminum plates have good plasticity and are very suitable for machining, such as sawing, shearing, milling, boring, planing, turning, etc.
4. Corrosion resistance. The surface of the 1 series aluminum plate without special processing will naturally form a dense aluminum oxide protective film, which is difficult to damage. Therefore, the 1 series aluminum plate has good resistance to atmospheric (including industrial atmospheric and marine atmospheric) corrosion and water corrosion.
5. No low-temperature brittleness. The strength and plasticity of 1-series aluminum plates will not decrease due to temperature reduction. Below zero degrees Celsius, the lower the temperature, the higher the strength and plasticity.
6. Good conductivity and thermal conductivity. Among metals, aluminum's conductivity and thermal conductivity are second only to gold, silver, and copper.
7. Good reflexivity. After polishing, the reflectivity of the surface of the 1-series aluminum plate to light can reach over 80%, and the higher the purity of the aluminum, the higher the reflectivity. In addition to visible light, aluminum has good reflectivity to infrared, ultraviolet, electromagnetic waves, thermal radiation, etc.
8. Non magnetic, impact does not produce sparks. Aluminum has no magnetism and does not generate sparks due to friction or collision, making it the best container for flammable liquids, gases, and chemicals.
9. Sound absorption. Aluminum has a good absorption and barrier effect on sound.
10. Resistant to nuclear radiation. Aluminum has good tolerance and barrier ability to nuclear radiation.
